UNDERSTANDING THE TRANSMISSION OF WATER-ASSOCIATED MULTI-DRUG RESISTANT ORGANISMS IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS

Contact and inhalation of potable water or associated aerosols has been recognized as a route of hospital-acquired infections, yet scarcity in bacterial genomes representing the potable water environment limits infection source-tracking. We are developing a systematic culture collection of bacterial isolates from potable water supplies and a bacterial whole genome sequencing database.
